What a great time we all had. I grew up in Oregon City, and still learned so much more. We can't wait to do another tour.

I have lived in Oregon City most all of my 40+ years and on this tour I learned some new things about my hometown. I especially liked the stories that Rocky told along the bluff...about the wreck of the steamboat, the haunted old apartment building, and the first woman murderer in the county. After listening to 2 hours of ghostly tales, I was ready to be thoroughly spooked when Rocky pointed out with his flashlight what looked like the face of Dr. John McLoughlin in a tree trunk behind the historic home. I took a sharp intake of breath when the face appeared to me! Nice and spooky. I'd just recommend that everyone wear good walking shoes because my feet got sore.

We took the walk with the spirits tour last week and loved it! Not only was it informative and fascinating, but the tour guide is extremely knowledgeable regarding local history and also respectful of his subject. Many times we felt the strong presence of spirits and heard things we still can't really explain. Oregon City is a fascinating place, full of legends and rich with stories that make this tour a must do while in the area!

Rocky was a fantastic guide; his first-hand knowledge and experiences with historic places throughout the Portland area come to life as he tells his stories. The history of the places combined with the haunting tales have me highly recommending this tour.

This was really interesting! We saw parts of Oregon City we never knew existed (waterfalls, tunnels!) and the history and ghost stories were even better.

This was a great tour. I've lived in Oregon City for 10 years & learned many new things about it's history as well as it's hauntings. I highly recommend this tour & will definitely do it again. Even witnessed an 'event' with steam coming out of a chimney that goes nowhere in a house that isn't inhabited, at least by anyone that we can see.

If you're not sure if this tour is worth it, don't fear. It's not only really fun but you will learn a lot about Oregon's history. Rocky seems to know just about everyone in Oregon City - dead or alive! You won't be disappointed. We need more people like Rocky who care to keep the oral history of our communities alive.

I really enjoyed learning about the history of Oregon City. I have lived here my whole life and learned more this night than I have my whole life. I told my mom she should go and take my little brother.

The Tour was GREAT!! My mom is from Bend and I brought her with me, we both had a great time. Rocky did a great job at being very professional, and he definitely had the best stories. I loved learning all the history of a town I have lived in now for 3 years, that I knew nothing of before. The next day, I went to the elevator and took a ride on that and also did the tour of the McLoughlin house. I can't wait to see the Ermatinger house next. I will definitely go on the tour again, and I already have a few friends that can't wait to go with me, thanks for a wonderful tour Rocky!!

What a great way to spend one of the hottest evenings of the year. I know Rocky was extremely uncomfortable in the heat, but he handled it like the professional he is. Good job and worth every referral I can send his way.

My boyfriend and I loved this tour! I appreciated how Rocky was "sticking to the facts." He didn't over dramatize any personal experiences nor did he try to "convert" us to believers. He did a great job mixing fact with myth and never presented a myth as a fact. If nothing else, we came out of there with a new appreciation of Oregon City. I just wish we had a similar program at Sherwood! We definitely plan to take the downtown tour soon! Thank you for such an interesting program!

Very interesting and informative about history of Oregon City and the creepy stories that you never hear about. Would have liked to go into some of the buildings that have known spirits like the Ermatinger house. Very fun!

A lot of the stories that Rocky tells have "truth" to them because of many other people sensing or seeing things, in much the same way. I greatly enjoy learning about the history as well!

I went on the tour Friday, April 11th. I just have to say it was amazing. I have lived in Oregon City all my life and didn't realize how much my city has really been though. The tour was amazing, it was a lot of fun, very interesting and very much worth my time. I learned a lot about the city, and even got pretty scared some of the time. My friends and I are still talking about how amazing it was days later. Thanks Rocky! It was a lot of fun!

Rocky, I recently took your downtown ghost tour with several friends. While I grew up in West Linn and have worked in downtown Oregon City for the last seven years, I was familiar with some of the OCs colorful history. I must admit that your rendition of Oregon City’s haunted history was entertaining and informative. I work in one of Oregon City’s historic buildings downtown and frequently work late nights. I am convinced that our building is haunted by first hand experience and I am comforted to know that this is not the only building on Main Street that has “immortal” residents. Thank you for your time and I will definitely recommend your tours to others.

I went on Rocky’s ghost tour last Saturday and it kicked! I've lived in Oregon City almost most of my life, and I didn't even know half of the things that I learned on the tour about the history of OC. The ghost stories were the best part, I really liked the one about the little girl and steam boat captain that lives in the Ermatinger house. Over all the tour was a blast, I learned a lot and I am definitely going to be going on the tour again soon. thanks Rocky!

So, at the end of our tour last night, which ended at the Ermantinger House, It was dark, and there was just a regular shadow on the house from the bushes and everything. Then Rocky started to talk about the Steam Boat Captain. I was looking in the window on the left side of the house, when something in the corner of my eye changed. I looked at the wall next to the window and there was a shadow of, what I would say is a stereotypical steam boat captain. A tall man with a captain hat on. It stood out against the other shadows because it was much much darker. I looked around to make sure it wasn't any one else's shadow, all of our shadows were pointing up 6th street, basically perpendicular the shadow I saw against the house. The shadow also did not move when a car came by with it's headlights on. It disappeared after Rocky was done talking about how the Captain and April kind of try to make sure they're being mentioned.

Our family took the tour last Friday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Funny tidbit: After hearing about the little girl who has a fascination with ribbons, we got in our car to drive home and I realized my little rainbow ribbon was not hanging on the center mirror. I thought for sure we were ghosted! Next day we found it in the glove box and remembered my son had been playing with it and it had fallen off, so was placed out of harms way! Thanks again for lots of fun!

This was one of the coolest things I have ever done. I learned more about Oregon City's past in a few hours than I have in all my life. I loved getting to experience history first hand and Rocky did an amazing job of telling the stories that go along  with all the sites. I look for to going many more times this summer. Thank you for such a fun/interesting night.

Hello Rocky! I apologize that I did not write sooner, however I'm responding to the tour you performed on 09/23/06(?). Your knowledge and investigation into the local Oregon City Area is immense, and I believe that if someone has never been on the tour, they should go at least once. I commend you fully and recommend it to everyone. Thank you for sharing and exploring the local history in such a fun, exciting, and in-depth manner.

I wanted to write and tell you that I really enjoyed your tour. I appreciated the emphasis on history of the city while throwing spirits in here and there. I could tell that the history is important to you so I wanted to let you know a couple of things about the McLoughlin House. In 1909 the McLoughlin House was moved from its
original location to where it sits now. It was moved with a one horse
winch system and it took about 4 days to move the house over the course of one week. Documentation for this information came from the files of the Oregon City newspaper of the time. Moving the house was no easy task especially when you take into consideration that at one point the house was actually wider than the road and the back of the house had to be weighed down to prevent the whole thing falling off
the cliff. According to one of the men involved they used sand bags, gravel bags, and cement to counterbalance the house. The McLoughlin House is open Wednesday thru Saturday from 10am-4pm and Sunday from 1-4pm. Feel free to pass this info on to your tours as they might like to see the inside of the house after their ghost walk.

Thanks again for a great tour!

Hi Rocky; I just wanted to thank you again, as we indicated on Saturday, you did a great job!  I really enjoyed the history and the spiritual references. I completely buy into the belief that everyone leaves an imprint of their time on earth and some are stronger than others.  Colleen believes she brought a small child home with us Saturday. It knocked Bens’ shaving cup onto the floor this morning.

Also, would it be OK to forward your email address to a coworker?  She knows people who own historic homes and they may be able to provide additional stories.

Again, I had a great time and you reengaged my interest in area history. I look forward to additional tours and happenings. Have a great week.

Some of the members of TEPS have had a busy weekend. Several of us did the Walk with the Spirits in Oregon City. I know for myself, I really enjoyed it. Rocky did a wonderful job. I will leave it to the other members who attended to tell what
they experanced during this walk. For myself I will need to go back to one of the houses and see if I can cause the shadow I saw in the window of the house to apear.experience also.
